Five tracks from one song

Each completed split returns the five tracks below. The instrumental keeps the backing music together; drums, bass, and other instruments let you work with individual parts of that backing.

Vocals

The sung or spoken voice, separated from the mix. Use it when you need an acapella.

Instrumental

The backing track with the voice removed. Use it for karaoke, a cover, or audio under narration.

Drums

The drum kit on its own. Use it to study a groove or rebuild the rhythm in a song you have permission to use.

Bass

The bass line on its own. Use it to learn the part or replace the low end.

Other instruments

Guitars, keys, synths, and the remaining melodic parts, grouped as one track. This is not a separate file for every instrument.

The instrumental overlaps with the drum, bass, and other-instrument tracks. Choose the combined backing or its individual parts rather than adding all five tracks together.

Why split stems here

Five parts, one upload

Vocals, instrumental, drums, bass, and other instruments come back together. You do not start a separate job for each part.

Take the part you need

Each stem is a separate file. Bring the vocal into a remix, use the drums to study a groove, or keep the instrumental as a backing track.

Compare the parts by ear

Switch between the original and each stem in the public example. Hear where the voice pauses, the beat changes, and the bass enters.

Nothing to install

Upload, follow the progress, and preview the stems in the browser on a computer or phone.

How to split a song into stems

Upload the mix

Drag in an MP3, WAV, M4A, or FLAC file, or choose one from your device. Files can be up to 50 MB and 15 minutes. Sign in to start.

Wait for the five tracks

The page shows progress while the split runs. You can leave and open the same task later in My creations.

Preview, then download

Listen to each result, choose the parts you need, then use the download controls to save them for your music software. See the account access rules in the FAQ below.

What the split includes

Other instruments stay together

The fifth track groups the remaining melodic parts. It does not create a separate guitar, piano, or synth file.

These file types and sizes

MP3, WAV, M4A, and FLAC are supported, up to 50 MB and 15 minutes.

No link import

YouTube and SoundCloud imports are not available. Upload a file you own or have permission to process.

Separate MP3 downloads

Full stem downloads are MP3 files, one file per track. WAV and FLAC are supported as inputs; this tool currently does not export those formats.

Listen for separation artifacts

Results vary with the recording. Some voice or instrument sound, reverb, or audible artifacts may remain in another stem. Listen to the result before using it in a mix.

Private for 30 days

Uploads use an encrypted connection and stay on your account. Soundora deletes uploaded files within 30 days.

Where a stem split helps

Rebuild a remix

Take the drums or bass from a mix you have permission to use, then write new parts around them.

Practice one part

Listen to the drums, bass, or vocals on their own and play along. Slowing a passage or looping the chorus still happens in your practice software.

Karaoke or a backing bed

Use the instrumental when you want the voice gone and the band together. If you only need those two tracks, Vocal Remover is the shorter path.

Sample a part

Bring the vocal, drum, or bass stem into your project. Separating a song does not transfer its copyright.

Stem Splitter questions

Which stems does Stem Splitter return?

Every completed split returns five tracks: vocals, instrumental, drums, bass, and other instruments. Other instruments is one combined track for the remaining melodic parts, not a separate file for each instrument.

How do trials, credits, and downloads work?

Sign in to separate your own files. Accounts without an active paid subscription get two trial separations per day, shared with Vocal Remover and resetting at 00:00 UTC. After those trials, and for active subscribers, the uploaded mix is charged per minute, rounded up; one charge covers all five tracks. Accounts that have never completed a paid purchase can preview the first 30 seconds of each track. A completed credit pack or subscription purchase unlocks full playback and downloads, including earlier results. Playback and downloads do not charge extra credits. The tool shows the credit cost before a paid split; if your balance is too low, the split does not start and no credits are charged.

What format do the stems download in?

Each full stem downloads as a separate MP3 file. Uploading WAV or FLAC does not change the download format. WAV and FLAC export are not currently available.

What files can I upload?

MP3, WAV, M4A, and FLAC, up to 50 MB and 15 minutes. YouTube and SoundCloud links are not supported. Upload a file you own or have permission to process.

How is this different from the vocal remover?

Vocal Remover returns vocals and one combined instrumental. Stem Splitter also returns separate drums, bass, and a combined track of other instruments. Choose it when you need to work on those parts individually. Vocal Remover Online

How long does a split take?

Processing time varies with the length of the track and the current queue. The page shows the status, and the same task stays available in My creations.

Are my files private?

Uploads are sent over an encrypted connection and stored privately for your account. Soundora deletes uploaded files within 30 days.

Can I use the stems commercially?

If you own the song, or have permission to use it, you can use the stems. Separating a song does not transfer its copyright. Clear the rights before using someone else’s song commercially.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Soundora runs in the browser on desktop, tablet, and phone, with nothing to install.

Will the stems sound exactly like isolated studio recordings?

Not necessarily. Separation estimates parts from a finished mix; it does not recover the original recording-session tracks. You may hear traces of other instruments, reverb, or artifacts, especially where sounds overlap. Preview the result and check the passages you need before using it.
